Lumina walked quietly into the library. She glanced around before she found herself a corner tucked away in the magical beasts section and pulled her transfiguration book out of her bag.
Nadya was nestled sleepily on her shoulder, standing out brilliantly from her friend's long black hair.
Lumina flipped open her book and dragged out some parchment and her horse-feather quill. She knew she'd said in her journal that she was doing herself a favor and procrastinating for the first week of classes but she'd decided that McGonagall wouldn't be too pleased if her best transfiguration student came up with a substandard essay. She'd do that whole 'your mother would have never blah blah blah' thing that she did. Apparently McGonagall wasn't generally prone to such things but her mother had gotten perfect marks. Better than perfect.

Lumina sighed and looked out the window at the filtered sunlight. It had been a dreary day earlier but it looked as if it was clearing up. It was too bad. she'd just decided not to go out flying because of the weather and now that she'd chosen to pick up homework instead of her broom it got sunny. It figured.
Nadya remained quiet on her shoulder. It seemed that she didn't really care if Lumina was actually DOING her homework or daydreaming, as long as she'd taken it out and put even the most minute effort into it Nadya really didn't care much. She was barely more than a kitten, her interests lay elsewhere like bits of fluff, her own tail, and figuring out how to use her wings as well as her father's friend Charm did.

Sirius walked out of a different section of the library and looked around a bit until his eyes landed on Lumina and Nadya. He narrowed them and his mouth turned up into a little half smile as he made his way over to where Lumina was sitting.

"Well hello ladies. And how are we today?"
On November 9th, 2006 06:28 am (UTC), percipience replied:
Lumina eyed him with vague suspicion. She'd never been particularly good friends with Sirius potter. She wasn't on terrible terms with him but she'd heard stories that really made her ever so slightly cautious about him.
She then made a snorting sound, deciding that he was alright and glanced outside, "We'd be better if we were outside having a bit of a fly but the weather didn't decide to clear up until I'd grabbed my homework."

She slumped back in her chair with a little half-pout on her face. Obviously irritated, "Whoever this Murphy fellow is that created those stupid laws ought to be taken out in the streets and had atrocities commited to him him my opinion."

The little pout seemed to mostly clear from her face and she looked up at him, "Yourself? Why are you inside when you could be out in the sunshine making enough mischief for the both of us?"
On November 9th, 2006 06:33 am (UTC), paddymcpadfoot replied:
"As much as I love making mischief, even one such as myself must do some work. I was just putting a few finishing touches on a little project I've been working on." He answered, the smile not fading from his face. He knew his reputation, and didn't have a problem with it. With a sibling in Slytherin, he thought it'd be nice to start off the year right.
On November 9th, 2006 06:47 am (UTC), percipience replied:
Lumina and Nadya both couldn't really hide the little spark of intrigue behind their eyes at the mention of a 'little project' mostly because it sounded less like homework and more like something interesting simply by the way he put it. She smirked, "'little project' huh? Sounds illegal coming from your lips, Potter." She winked, "Though that kind of project is always the most fun isn't it?"

She pushed her transfiguration book and parchment away from her. She only moved it a couple of inches but it was a very clear motion that she no longer had any intent to do it in the near future.
On November 14th, 2006 04:04 am (UTC), paddymcpadfoot replied:
"Always. But what would you know about the more illegal activities?" He asked her, taking a seat next to her in the matching armchair.
On November 14th, 2006 04:20 am (UTC), percipience replied:
Lumina raised her eyebrows and looked at him oddly. It was a very widely known..well..rumored fact that the gypsies were lawbreakers. There were a lot of dark rumors around about her people, not to mention the rumors (which were actually fact) about the gypsy ways of training their children for magic at an early age, allowing apparition whenever the child was capable, becoming animagi without registering, taking part in black market trade.
She sat quietly looking at him for a moment with her eyebrows raised, trying to figure out whether or not he was joking. Lumina found it VERY had to believe that Sirius hadn't heard any of these rumors.
Finally she just leaned back and smiled slightly, "Surely you don't think I always follow the rules, Mister Potter and surely you've figured out who keeps feeding Filch hysteria potions."
She supressed a laugh at the memories of Filch prancing around the school in hysterics for no particular reason. True, it was a rather cruel prank, especially to be repeated...but he was a cruel man and had become very good at interfering with the students' mischief over the years. Lumina didn't like her mischief interfered with.
On November 14th, 2006 04:26 am (UTC), paddymcpadfoot replied:
"Well, I had my ideas. But some things not even I would try, so I congratulate you on your success." Sirius said to her, nodding his head in praise.
On November 14th, 2006 04:40 am (UTC), percipience replied:
"Well Nadya caught him munching on Mrs. Norris's cat treats the other day.......I know, sick, right? Well the hysteria potion I'm using only effects humans and hooved animals so, a drop or two in the cat treats..." She glanced to her left to make sure no one was listening. "I think McGonagall is getting wise, though, so no more of that this year. Hysteria potions are out of my arsenal for the...well at least until Christmas."

She decided that this was probably the longest conversation she'd held with Sirius Potter in all of their years of school together. She had to admit, though, with making mischief and breaking school rules as a topic there really weren't to many better to chat to.

"In all reality I should probably find a different subject for my pranks but...Filch is so fun. I get so sick of him stirring my mischief. I rather like my mischief unstirred, as I'm sure you can agree."
On November 14th, 2006 04:58 am (UTC), paddymcpadfoot replied:
"Oh indeed. When I've got a really good prank going, I try to stay as far away from Filch as possible. He has a habit of ruining my plans. I've just become adept at keeping clear of him in exchange." Sirius answered, shrugging his shoulers slightly.

Lumina shrugged, "To each his own. My mother was lucky. Charm..uh...the black animal like Nadya that I use to mail stuff, anyway she was friends with Mrs. Norris. My mother never had any trouble with Filch but Mrs. Norris won't pay any mind to a kitten."

Nadya looked offended about the whole deal and snorted from Lumina's shoulder. Without any real prompting Lumina reached forward and plopped her transfiguration book closed. It was clear her transfiguration work wasn't going to be getting done in the next bit of time.
On November 14th, 2006 05:13 am (UTC), paddymcpadfoot replied:
"That cat scares me. I try to avoid her almost as much as Filch. She gives me the willies." Sirius responded, shuddering dramatically.
On November 15th, 2006 07:30 pm (UTC), percipience replied:
"She really is freakish," Lumina agreed, making a face. "When I was younger I was convinced she was really a person who never came out of their animagus form....and a particularly unpleasant person to boot."

((EEEK THE ORLY ICON XD it's my favorite!))
On November 16th, 2006 08:01 pm (UTC), paddymcpadfoot replied:
"Oh, I could just see it. Crazy hair, scary teeth, and those damn red eyes. Gives me nightmares." Sirius agreed, nodding his head.
On November 17th, 2006 02:00 am (UTC), percipience replied:
Lumina made a face, "And what kind of a cat has red eyes anyway?"
Nadya peeped something and Lumina nodded, "Yeah she IS abnormally old too. Creepy."

She looked outside the window to her left. The sun was streaming in and the sky was a beautiful shade of blue, the only clouds were retreating into the distance.

Lumina stood up, "Well I'm going out for a fly. I just got a new broom and I can't stand to be seperated from it for any extended period of time." She gave Sirius a little smirk, she was sure he was familiar with the new broom buzz she was dealing with.
On November 17th, 2006 06:29 am (UTC), paddymcpadfoot replied:
"I know exactly how you feel. A new broom needs to be broken in, especially when it's a broom you'll be using for a match." Sirius said, smirking back.
On November 17th, 2006 06:42 am (UTC), percipience replied:
Lumina grinned evilly, "By 'a match' you mean one of those things where Slytherin's going to whoop the crap out of Gryffindor? Yeah you're right, I need to make sure I have it fine tuned. Can't let that snitch get away from me....not that it would."

She laughed and then winked at Sirius, "it was nice chatting with you. If you finish early with your 'little project' you're welcome to join. Later." She cast him an offhanded wave over her shoulder then disappeared through the library door, Madam Pince looke after her in a disapproving manner.
On November 17th, 2006 10:10 pm (UTC), paddymcpadfoot replied:
"See ya. Maybe I'll take you up on your offer." Sirius responded. He couldn't help but wink back as she walked past him out of the library.
